Youth & Community

Although many will agree that classroom education is the cornerstone of American Society, studies have shown that numerous variables contribute to a student’s ability to effectively process information in a classroom setting. The Men of New Water find that "out of the classroom" tutoring and individual attention help to properly identify a students learning style, improve test scores and increase graduation rates amongst the majority of students.

The Men Of New Waters Mentoring curriculum encompasses 7 Key branches of education: Travel, Tutoring, Athletics, Art, Music, African History, and Manhood.

In 1997 The original members of The Men Of New Water attended Virginia State University where they discovered how imperative travel is to education. Giving the youth a chance to travel outside of their neighborhoods is a priceless gift that creates endless opportunities. With this in mind The Men of New Water host annual College Tours to various colleges around the U.S.

The Men of New Water dedicated an entire department of their organization to health, wellness and physical activity. New Water strongly believes that health is wealth and the 3 keys to a well rounded education are Mental, Social, and Physical.

New Waters mentees go to the gym 3 days per week and are encouraged to participate in various sports not just the ones that they are used to.

New Water takes it’s mentees to professional sporting events as well as high school and college games. New Water has Annual Baseball and Basketball Tournaments in New York and Virginia that its men-tees participate in and prepare for throughout the year.
